# Elestio maintenance

Guidance for operating a Sitecopilot instance deployed via Elestio.

## Backups & restores

* Verify backup retention in the Elestio UI. Elestio creates periodic snapshots of volumes and databases.

* For restores, use the Elestio restore workflow (select snapshot → restore). Always test restores on a staging instance before applying to production.

## Monitoring & alerts

* Configure CPU, memory and disk alerts in Elestio.

* Monitor application logs and error rates via the Elestio console or an external log sink.

## Scaling

* Vertical scaling: increase VM size in Elestio.

* Horizontal scaling: deploy multiple app containers behind a load balancer (if template supports it).

## Upgrades

* Elestio may offer template upgrades. Review release notes and perform canary upgrades if possible.

## Support & SLA

* Check your Elestio plan for SLA and support windows. For urgent incidents, use Elestio support and provide snapshots/logs.
